The thing here is not to believe everything you read. It is quite amazing how many people believe everything that is published on the Internet, for example, know, related to health, it is important that people learn to read the Nutritional Facts on every meal.

10 grams of sugar should be enough for your organism and not to increase your blood sugar levels. However like I always said, please be sure to ask a professional or your physician in case you have any doubts. Especially if you are overweight or have diabetes or cholesterol problems.

The idea with the fiber is that it can help you to slow down your body’s digestion of the sugars to prevent any spikes in your blood sugar.

Also, see if the cereal has no artificial flavors, preservatives, artificial color added or any partially hydrogenated oil.

3 grams of fiber, yes, but 14 grams of sugar. It also has artificial flavors and colors.

Kellog’s Smart Start

The first one to analyze is the Kellog’s Smart Start Original Antioxidants. It has:

Per 1 cup: 190 calories, 1 g fat (0 g saturated fat), 200 mg sodium, 43 g carbs (3 g fiber, 14 g sugar), 4 g protein

3 grams of fiber, yes, but 14 grams of sugar. It also has artificial flavors and colors.

Cinnamon Chex

Per 1 cup: 160 calories, 3 g fat (0 g saturated fat), 240 mg sodium, 33 g carbs, (1 g fiber, 11 g sugar), 1 g protein

33 grams of carbs is too much for a cereal, 1 gram of fiber is too low and 11g sugar is just above the limit. However, being so low in fiber increment the reaction your body can have to that amount of sugar.

Post Raisin Bran

Per 1 cup: 190 calories, 1 g fat (0 g saturated fat), 230 mg sodium, 47 g carbs (8 g fiber, 19 g sugar), 5 g protein

I don’t know if I have to specify that 19 grams of sugar are bad for you.

Kellog’s Raisin Bran, Omega-3

Per 1 cup: 180 calories, 1.5 g fat (0 g saturated fat), 190 mg sodium, 44 g carbs (5 g fiber, 17 g sugar), 4 g protein

The Omega-3 is clearly a distraction here, 17 grams of sugar is too much for a cup of cereal in the morning.
